Benjamin Redfield, a pioneer farmer of Jackson county, and a veteran of both the Civil and the Mexican wars, died at his home near Ava Tuesday. His age was 87 years, 9 months and 28 days. Old age was the cause of death. He had been a resident of this county since 1840.
Five sons survive, as follows: W. G. Redfield, of near Campbell Hill; H. F. Redfield, of Downy, Cal.; George Redfield, of Campbell Hill; I. C. Redfield, of Ava, and Harvey H. Redfield, of California.
Funeral services were held today at Campbell Hill, Rev. Gordon officiating. Interment in the Ava cemetery.
