Robert Frederick Cairns passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. He was 72 years old. He was born in Alexandria, LA to the late Dr. Adrian Bennett Cairns, Sr. and Mary Adeline Davis Cairns Martin. He had been a resident of Houston, TX for the past 47 years.
Survived by his children, Robert Frederick Beggs, Wilmer Hayward Beggs of Fredericksburg, VA and two grandchildren.
Brothers, Dr. Adrian Bennett Cairns, Jr. of Covington, LA, twin brother, Thomas Edward Cairns of Falls Church, VA and a sister Mary Sue Cairns Lanaux of Mandeville, LA.
Bob graduated from St. Martin's Protestant Episcopal School, attended Tulane University, received his undergraduate degree from Southeastern La. University and graduated from the University of Houston Law School. He practiced law and also taught History and English at Lamar High School in Houston for several years.
He was a member of Alpha Kappa Omega, Phi Delta Theta Fraternities, the Texas Bar Association, and the Mayflower Society.
A memorial service was held at Heights Tower in Houston, TX on February 7, 2010.
